DRV5055A4QDBZR Linear Hall Effect Sensor
The DRV5055A4QDBZR, a high-precision linear Hall-effect sensor from Texas Instruments, is housed in a compact SOT-23-3 surface-mount package, designed to provide accurate, ratiometric analog output proportional to magnetic flux density for position sensing, current detection and proximity switching applications. Operating from a 2.5 V to 38 V single-supply voltage, this sensor features a high sensitivity of 5.0 mV/mT (A4 version) with a linear output voltage range from 0.2 V to VCC – 0.2 V, enabling precise measurement of both north and south magnetic poles across a ±71 mT measurement range with a typical nonlinearity of 1.5% over the full temperature span. Its key electrical specifications include a low 3.3 mA typical supply current, a fast 20 kHz bandwidth that supports dynamic magnetic field sensing, a 1.5% maximum sensitivity drift from -40°C to 125°C, and integrated protection features such as reverse supply protection, output short-circuit protection and overvoltage clamp up to 40 V for robust operation in harsh environments. It is widely deployed in automotive throttle position sensing, brushless DC motor commutation, industrial linear actuators, valve position feedback and contactless current sensing systems that demand reliable, high-accuracy magnetic sensing with wide supply voltage tolerance.
