TXB0104PWR voltage-level translator
The TXB0104PWR is a 4-bit bidirectional voltage-level translator from Texas Instruments, designed for seamless logic level translation between mixed-voltage systems in a compact 14-TSSOP. This advanced translator supports A port voltages from 1.2V to 3.6V and B port voltages from 1.65V to 5.5V (with VCCA ≤ VCCB), enabling universal low-voltage bidirectional translation between any of the 1.2V, 1.5V, 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V, and 5V voltage nodes. Operating with data rates up to 100Mbps and characterized for industrial temperature range from -40°C to +85°C, this device consumes maximum 4µA quiescent current while featuring auto-direction sensing that eliminates the need for external direction control signals. The  level shifter is fully RoHS compliant and features ±15kV ESD protection on B port and ±2.5kV on A port, ensuring robust operation in harsh electrical environments.
The TXB0104PWR utilizes a buffered architecture with integrated edge-rate accelerators (one-shots) to improve overall data rate and signal integrity during level translation. The auto-direction sensing capability automatically detects data flow direction without requiring external direction control pins, simplifying system design and reducing component count. The level shifter features Schmitt-trigger inputs that provide hysteresis and improved noise immunity, ensuring reliable signal recognition in electrically noisy environments. An output enable (OE) input referenced to VCCA allows tri-state control of all outputs, with internal pulldown circuitry ensuring high-impedance state during power-up or power-down sequences. The IOFF partial power-down mode circuitry prevents damaging current backflow when the device is powered down while connected to active buses.
