AD5593RBCBZ-RL7 configurable mixed-signal I/O chip
The AD5593RBCBZ-RL7 is an 8-channel, 12-bit configurable mixed-signal I/O device manufactured by Analog Devices, integrating DAC, ADC, and GPIO functionality into a single compact chip with an I2C interface. The device also supports general-purpose digital I/O configuration, allowing GPIO pin states to be set or read back through I2C register access operations. The AD5593RBCBZ-RL7 incorporates an integrated 2.5 V, 20 ppm per degree C precision reference voltage source that is turned off by default to conserve power, along with an on-chip temperature indicator that provides die temperature readings as part of the ADC conversion sequence.
The chip operates from a single 2.7 V to 5.5 V supply, supports an ADC sampling rate of 400 kS per s, and achieves a typical DAC settling time of 6 microseconds with a slew rate of 1.25 V per microsecond. It delivers an integral nonlinearity of plus or minus 2 LSB and a signal-to-noise ratio of 69 dB at 2.7 V with 0 V to VREF input range, ensuring high-accuracy data conversion for precision measurement and control applications. Packaged in a 16-ball WLCSP with dimensions of 1.96 mm by 1.96 mm, the AD5593RBCBZ-RL7 is exceptionally compact for space-constrained designs such as optical transceivers, industrial control systems, and battery-powered instrumentation. The device operates over an industrial temperature range of minus 40 degrees C to plus 105 degrees C and is RoHS compliant.
Alternative configurable ADC DAC models
1. The AD5592RBCBZ-1-RL7 from Analog Devices is an SPI-interface equivalent in a 16-ball WLCSP package, offering identical 8-channel 12-bit configurable ADC/DAC/GPIO functionality with higher data throughput for systems preferring SPI over I2C.
2. The AD5593RBCPZ-RL7 from Analog Devices is a 16-lead LFCSP variant, providing the same configurable I/O capabilities and integrated reference in a 3 mm by 3 mm package better suited for manufacturing processes requiring larger thermal pads.
3. The AD5593RBRUZ-RL7 from Analog Devices is a 16-lead TSSOP packaged version, delivering identical electrical performance and configurability for designs where larger surface-mount assembly is preferred over chip-scale packaging.
4. The MAX11301 from Maxim Integrated is a 20-channel programmable mixed-signal I/O device with 12-bit ADC and DAC capabilities, featuring a flexible crosspoint switch architecture and SPI interface for complex signal routing applications requiring more channels.
