Analog Chip Leader TI Issues Another Price Increase Notice

Texas Instruments (TI), the global analog chip giant, has recently issued another price increase notice to customers, announcing adjustments across multiple product lines. The effective date remains unspecified, with increases varying by product depending on specific materials, technologies, and manufacturing processes involved. This marks at least the fourth round of price hikes by TI within the past twelve months.

Entering the second half of 2026, price increase notices are landing intensively from international giants to domestic manufacturers. STMicroelectronics completed its third price adjustment of the year on August 23, with certain automotive-grade MCUs rising 15% to 20%. Analog Devices' (ADI) second round of portfolio-wide price adjustments will take effect on September 13, with some military-grade high-reliability devices seeing increases of up to 30%.
On the domestic front, RF chip leader Maxscend Microelectronics implemented new prices across its full RF product line starting September 1. NSING plans to raise prices on select MCU products by 10% to 20% effective October 1. Yangjie Technology and Silan Microelectronics have already completed two rounds of price adjustments this year, with increases generally exceeding 10% to 15%. From memory chips to power semiconductors, from analog devices to RF front-ends, the price hike trend has spread across the entire industry chain.
Drivers Behind the Price Increases
This round of price increases stems from imbalances on both the supply and demand sides. On the demand side, surging requirements for high-bandwidth memory, power devices, and power management chips from AI servers have prompted foundries to prioritize mature-node 8-inch and 12-inch capacity for high-margin AI-related products, significantly squeezing capacity for analog chips and MCUs needed by industrial control, automotive electronics, and consumer electronics. On the supply side, rising prices for raw materials such as gallium, copper, precious metals, and specialty gases—combined with tightening wafer foundry and packaging/testing capacity and escalating energy and logistics costs—have substantially elevated overall manufacturing costs. Meanwhile, after two consecutive years of destocking, industry inventories have fallen to low levels. Downstream manufacturers, concerned about supply instability, have initiated precautionary stockpiling, further exacerbating the supply-demand imbalance.
