It features a wide input voltage range of 4.5V to 36V and supports a high continuous current of up to 5A, making it suitable for a broad array of industrial, communications, and enterprise applications. Housed in a compact, thermally efficient 3.5mm x 3.5mm QFN package, this device integrates a low-Rds(on) (25mΩ typical) N-channel MOSFET with precision control logic to provide robust, programmable protection and smooth power sequencing.
The eFuse's architecture centers on a smart gate driver that actively controls the slew rate of the internal FET to manage inrush current, a critical feature for powering capacitive loads and ensuring compliance with hot-swap specifications. It offers highly accurate, user-adjustable current limiting via an external sense resistor, with fast response to short-circuit events. The overvoltage clamp function actively regulates the output during input transients, protecting sensitive loads. Additional features include programmable undervoltage lockout (UVLO), thermal shutdown, and a fault-indication flag (FLT) pin.
