This MC33340P integrated circuit (IC) features negative slope voltage detection as the primary means of fast charge termination. It briefly interrupts the charging current through an output to achieve accurate voltage sampling. In addition, the MC33340P provides auxiliary backup termination methods, including programmable time or temperature limits. The PMIC device also has protection features such as battery overvoltage and undervoltage detection, overtemperature detection for locking, and power input undervoltage locking with hysteretic function. The MC33340P's typical fast charge hold time is 177 seconds, which contrasts with the MC33342's 708 seconds hold time.
