MC33FS5502Y3ESR2 High-Voltage Automotive PMIC
The MC33FS5502Y3ESR2 is a high-performance, automotive-qualified power management integrated circuit (PMIC) developed by NXP Semiconductors, serving as the primary companion chip for S32Rx radar microcontrollers and optimized for high-voltage radar and automotive system applications. This device integrates multiple switching mode power supplies (SMPS) and linear regulators (LDO) into a compact 56-pin HVQFN package, delivering robust, efficient, and reliable power distribution for 24V/48V automotive and industrial platforms while meeting strict AEC-Q100 Grade G quality and reliability standards.
It supports an ultra-wide input voltage range up to 60V, making it suitable for heavy-duty automotive and truck electrical systems, and incorporates two high-efficiency SMPS and one LDO to provide multiple regulated outputs for core, I/O, and sensor power rails. The PMIC offers external frequency synchronization for optimized EMC performance, a low 10µA standby current in OFF mode, and I²C control with CRC for secure and reliable communication, plus one-time programmable (OTP) memory to configure output voltages, operating frequency, and power-up sequencing for flexible system customization.
Primarily designed as a dedicated power solution for NXP S32Rx automotive radar microcontrollers, it is widely deployed in 77GHz/79GHz millimeter-wave radar systems for advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), autonomous driving, and automotive safety applications. It also suits industrial high-voltage power systems, 24V/48V battery-powered equipment, and embedded platforms requiring multi-rail power, high efficiency, and robust thermal/EMI performance in harsh environments.
Alternative power ICs
