TheMicrochip Technology MCP3008-I/SL is a 10-bit Analog-to-Digital Converter(ADC) that combines high performance with low power consumption in a compact package, making it ideal for embedded control applications. It features a successive approximation register (SAR) architecture and an industry-standard SPI serial interface, allowing for the integration of 10-bit ADC capabilities with any PIC® microcontroller. The MCP3008-I/SL operates at a sampling rate of 200k samples per second, has 8 input channels, and consumes low power with a typical standby current of 5nA and a typical active current of 425µA.
