The SMAJ15CA is a 400W bidirectional transient voltage suppression / TVS diode from Littelfuse, engineered to protect sensitive electronics from voltage transients caused by lightning, electrostatic discharge (ESD), and inductive load switching. This surface-mount avalanche diode features a 15V reverse standoff voltage, a 16.7V to 18.5V breakdown range, and a 24.4V maximum clamping voltage at 16.4A peak pulse current under the standard 10/1000μs waveform. Housed in a compact DO-214AC (SMA) package with glass passivated junction construction and low inductance, the device offers excellent clamping capability and a fast response time, making it ideal for surge protection on low-voltage DC power rails, data lines, and I/O interfaces in automotive, industrial, and consumer systems.
