AD9257BCPZ | Analog Devices octal ADC | 14-bit converter | 65 MSPS sampling
The AD9257BCPZ is an octal, 14-bit, 40/65 MSPS analog-to-digital converter from Analog Devices, integrating eight simultaneous-sampling ADC channels with on-chip sample-and-hold circuits in a single compact 64-lead LFCSP package (9mm x 9mm with exposed pad). Designed for low cost, low power, small size, and ease of use, this high-performance data converter operates from a single 1.8V supply and delivers outstanding dynamic performance with 75.5dB SNR and 91.6dB SFDR to Nyquist.
Featuring serial LVDS outputs (ANSI-644 default with reduced-signal option similar to IEEE 1596.3), a 650MHz full-power analog bandwidth, and 2V p-p differential input range, the device includes a data clock output (DCO) supporting DDR operation up to 455MHz and frame clock output (FCO) for output byte signaling. Available in two speed grades (AD9257BCPZ-40 at 40 MSPS and AD9257BCPZ-65 at 65 MSPS), this RoHS-compliant converter operates across the -40°C to +85°C industrial temperature range, consuming just 55mW per channel at 65 MSPS with pin compatibility to the AD9637 12-bit octal ADC.
Applications
● Medical imaging and nondestructive ultrasound requiring multichannel simultaneous digitization.
● Portable ultrasound and digital beam-forming systems demanding low power and compact footprints.
● Quadrature and diversity radio receivers in wireless infrastructure.
● Optical networking modules requiring high-speed signal capture.
● Automated test equipment and instrumentation performing wideband signal analysis.
Alternative octal ADC Models
● AD9637BCPZ: The 12-bit pin-compatible octal ADC offering lower resolution for cost-sensitive applications sharing the same footprint.
● AD9253BCPZ: The quad-channel 14-bit alternative delivering similar performance for systems requiring only four simultaneous channels.
● AD9254BCPZ-150: The dual-channel 150 MSPS higher-speed variant for applications prioritizing sampling rate over channel count.
● AD9251BCPZ-65: The dual-channel 65 MSPS sibling providing identical performance per channel for reduced-channel designs.
