AD8310ARMZ-REEL7Logarithmic Amplifier
AD8310ARMZ-REEL7 is a DC-to-440 MHz, 95 dB logarithmic amplifier (log amp) / detector from Analog Devices that integrates a successive-detection architecture, nine-stage limiting amplifier and temperature-compensated output stage in an 8-pin MSOP package, delivering ±3 dB linear-in-dB accuracy over 88 dB dynamic range, 24 mV/dB slope and ±0.4 dB temperature stability while operating from 2.7 V to 5.5 V. The device features 440 MHz −3 dB bandwidth, 15 ns rise/fall time and 8 mA supply current, making it ideal for RF power measurement, received signal strength indication (RSSI), automatic gain control (AGC) loops and pulse detection in wireless infrastructure, radar and instrumentation systems requiring wide dynamic range and fast response .
AD8310ARMZ-REEL7 95 dB log amp Technical Specifications
The proprietary successive-detection architecture achieves 88 dB dynamic range (±3 dB error) from −91 dBV to −3 dBV input, with 24 mV/dB slope translating RF amplitude to linear voltage for direct ADC interface. The 440 MHz bandwidth supports cellular, ISM and WLAN frequencies through 2.4 GHz with external prescalers. Input impedance is 1.1 kΩ shunted by 1.4 pF, allowing direct connection to 50 Ω sources via simple matching networks, while the differential output drives 2 Vp-p into 10 kΩ loads with ±0.4 dB temperature drift from −40 °C to +85 °C. The 15 ns response time enables 20 MHz pulse detection for radar and TDMA systems, and the 8 mA quiescent current supports battery-powered field instruments.
