AD7616BSTZ Analog-to-Digital Converter
The AD7616BSTZ is a high-performance 16-bit, 16-channel data acquisition system (DAS) with dual simultaneous sampling analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) designed by Analog Devices.  The AD7616BSTZ features a dual 16-bit successive approximation register (SAR) ADC with a throughput rate of up to 1 MSPS per channel pair.   It supports true bipolar input signals ranging from ±10 V, ±5 V, and ±2.5 V, and operates from a single 5 V analog supply.   The device includes input clamp protection, a first-order antialiasing analog filter, and an on-chip 2.5 V reference and reference buffer.   It also offers flexible digital filtering, oversampling capability, and a flexible sequencer with burst mode.   The AD7616BSTZ provides a parallel and serial interface compatible with SPI/QSPI/MICROWIRE/DSP, and supports optional cyclic redundancy check (CRC) error checking.
AD7616BSTZ Applications
The AD7616BSTZ is widely used in applications where high-precision and high-speed data acquisition is essential.   It is commonly found in powerline monitoring and protective relays, where it provides accurate and simultaneous sampling of multiple channels.   The device is also used in multiphase motor control systems, enabling precise control and monitoring of motor performance.   Additionally, it is utilized in instrumentation and control systems, as well as general data acquisition systems (DASs), where high-resolution and fast sampling rates are required.
Alternative16-bit ADC Chips
● AD7612BSTZ: A 12-bit, 16-channel DAS with dual simultaneous sampling ADCs, offering similar functionality but with lower resolution.   Suitable for applications requiring a balance between precision and cost.
● AD7606BSTZ: A 16-bit, 8-channel DAS with dual simultaneous sampling ADCs, providing high precision with fewer channels.   Ideal for applications with lower channel count requirements.
● AD7609BSTZ: A 16-bit, 16-channel DAS with single-ended inputs, offering similar resolution but with a different input configuration.   Suitable for applications requiring single-ended input signals.
