Cirrus Logic Completes Acquisition of INVENTVM
2026-10-08
On October 6, 2026, Cirrus Logic announced it had completed the acquisition of Italian fabless chip company INVENTVM Semiconductor S.r.l. Financial terms were undisclosed, and the company said the deal will not have a material impact on its revenue. INVENTVM is headquartered in Pavia, Italy, and is a leading Italian fabless IC design company.
Founded in 2021, INVENTVM was formed by a team with deep semiconductor industry backgrounds through a management buyout of an existing R&D design center. INVENTVM focuses on mixed-signal ICs, DSP algorithms, and IP development. Its core products include PiezoDrive™ piezoelectric amplifiers and DSP technology, the VoltaTek™ battery management system platform, and turnkey IC services for commercial partners.
Complementary Technology Logic
Technically, INVENTVM's expertise clearly complements Cirrus Logic's existing business. Cirrus Logic is known for low-power, high-precision mixed-signal processing solutions, has long served top global mobile and consumer applications, and leads in audio codecs and amplifiers. INVENTVM has accumulated differentiated IP in mixed-signal power management and audio ICs; its piezoelectric amplifier technology synergizes with Cirrus Logic's audio signal chain, while its battery management platform opens up a new application scenario in power management.
The two sides had already worked together for years. This "partner first, acquire later" path reduces integration risk and means Cirrus Logic has already fully validated INVENTVM's technology roadmap and team capabilities.
Key Step in the Diversification Strategy
The INVENTVM acquisition continues this diversification path, but its focus is not just on gaining a single product line; it adds R&D teams, IP, and European R&D resources in mixed-signal, power, and audio. In its statement, Cirrus Logic made clear that the acquisition will strengthen its business presence in Europe, where it plans further expansion.
