TPSI3052QDWZRQ1 Automotive Reinforced Isolated Switch Driver
The TPSI3052QDWZRQ1 is a fully integrated, single-channel reinforced isolated switch driver engineered by Texas Instruments as part of the TPSI3052-Q1 automotive-grade product family. Housed in a compact 8-pin SO-MOD (DWZ) package, this device leverages inductive isolation technology to deliver a regulated 15V gate drive voltage without requiring an isolated secondary-side power supply. When combined with an external power switch such as a MOSFET, IGBT, or SiC device, the TPSI3052QDWZRQ1 forms a complete isolated solid-state relay (SSR) solution. Fully AEC-Q100 qualified for automotive applications with a temperature grade 1 rating of -40°C to +125°C, this device is also functional safety-capable, supporting system-level ISO 26262 compliance. The TPSI3052QDWZRQ1 is RoHS3 compliant, REACH unaffected, and rated MSL Level-3 with a 260°C peak reflow soldering profile.
Automotive Isolated Driver Core Features & Performance Advantages
The TPSI3052QDWZRQ1 eliminates the need for an isolated secondary supply by generating its own secondary bias from the power received from its primary side. The device supports both AC and DC switching and offers two flexible operating modes based on the number of input pins required. In two-wire mode, the switch is controlled using only two pins and supports a wide voltage range from 6.5V to 48V, making it ideal for driving mechanical relays. In three-wire mode, the primary supply (3V to 5.5V) is provided externally with a separate enable pin for switch control. The device features seven levels of power transfer that are resistor-selectable, allowing designers to optimize the trade-off between power consumption and response time. Additionally, the TPSI3052QDWZRQ1 can supply up to 50mW of power to external auxiliary circuitry, further simplifying system design. The device includes comprehensive fault protection features such as over-voltage protection and undervoltage lockout (UVLO), with a non-inverting input type and 1:1 input-to-output ratio. The inductive isolation technology provides high reliability and robust noise immunity, making it an ideal choice for safety-critical automotive and industrial applications.
