TLV5638IDR Digital to Analog Converter
TheTLV5638IDR​ from Texas Instruments is a dual 12-bit voltage-output DAC​ in an 8-pin SOIC (D) package, designed for 2.7‑V to 5.5‑V single-supply operation​ across industrial and automotive temperatures (–40 °C to +125 °C). It integrates a programmable internal 1.024 V / 2.048 V reference​ capable of sourcing up to 1 mA for system use, along with a ×2-gain rail-to-rail output buffer that drives 0 V to ~2×VREF outputs. Communication uses a 3-wire SPI-compatible serial interface​ (compatible with SPI, QSPI, Microwire, and TMS320 DSPs) with 16-bit command frames, supporting update rates up to ~20 MHz clock and ~233 kSPS throughput per channel.
Key features include programmable settling time​ (1 µs fast mode at 4.3 mW typical, or 3.5 µs slow mode at ~2.2 mW for lower noise), ±4 LSB INL (max), and monotonic 12-bit performance. The architecture uses a resistor-string DAC with Class‑AB output buffers for stable driving of capacitive loads. Power-down modes reduce supply current to microamps, and the device includes power-on reset to ensure known startup state.
