KSZ8999I Ethernet Switch IC 9-Port 10/100 Integrated Switch
TheKSZ8999I is a highly integrated Ethernet switch IC designed for industrial applications.  It features a 9-port (8+1) 10/100 integrated switch with eight physical layer transceivers and one MII/SNI interface.  This advanced Ethernet switch includes an internal frame buffer with 128K bytes of SRAM for frame buffering, supporting 2.0 Gbps high-performance memory bandwidth and wire-speed reception and transmission.  It also incorporates an integrated address lookup engine that supports up to 1K absolute MAC addresses, with automatic address learning, aging, and migration capabilities.
The KSZ8999I offers a range of advanced switch features, including support for 802.1p priority and port-based priority, port-based VLAN, and 1536-byte frames for VLAN tags.  It also supports DiffServ priority, 802.1p based priority, port-based priority, and broadcast storm protection.  The device is equipped with proven transceiver technology for both UTP and fiber operation, supporting 10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX, and 100BASE-FX modes.  It provides hardware-based 10/100, full/half, flow control, and auto-negotiation, with individual port forced modes available when auto-negotiation is disabled.
The KSZ8999I supports MDI/MDI-X auto-crossover and an external MAC interface (MII or 7-wire) for router applications.  It can operate unmanaged via strapping or EEPROM at system reset time and offers comprehensive LED support.  The device requires a single 2.0V power supply with options for 2.5V and 3.3V I/O, and it consumes 900 mA (1.80W), including physical transmit drivers.  It supports both commercial (0°C to +70°C) and industrial (-40°C to +85°C) temperature ranges.  The KSZ8999I is available in a 208-lead PQFP package.
